DNA is usually double stranded and contains deoxyribose while RNA is single stranded and has shorter nucleotide chain andRNA also contains ribose. DNA has pentose sugar and hydroxyl group while RNA  does not have hydroxil group attached to pentose ring.DNA has complementary base to adenine of thymine while RNA has uracil which unmethylated form of thymine.
