Explanation & Answer

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

The goals of Vesey rebellion were:

  • To kill the slaveholders together with its followers.
  • To continue interacting and socializing with many slaves, so as to help break the bondage of slavery.
  • Again, his goal was to abolish all those whites who were very rebellious and seek freedom for his family.
  • To get a rise out of the masters and tear down their churches (slaveholders) so that they can get angry of him as a leader.
  • As he became a leader, he founded the African Methodist Church which in return the whites shut it down.
  • Another aim was to get full freedom which he got by winning of a lottery.

The rebellion was successful because finally, most of the slaveholders broke their bondage through Veseys leadership and were slave free.
