Ethics is a body of moral principles that govern how people live their day to day lives and
how they make decisions. Ethics concerns itself with moral philosophy. Unlike morals which
involve personal belief on doing right or wrong, ethics are rules set by an external source such as
code of conduct in business or workplace as well as religious principles. Business ethics explains
the relationship existing between a person and a company, employees, the community or
government sector. It deals with corporate compliance, social responsibility, and employeremployee rights. Business ethics are built based on behavior, original customs, attitude,
expectations, and values (Pearson, 2017). However, unethical forms of business behaviors
profoundly damage business standards and productivity. They affect environmental and social
aspect which leads to lack of trust among parties involved.
Importance of the code of ethics
A code of ethics is guideline principles set to ensure an honesty and integrity business
