the height of an arrow shot into the air can be represented by the function h(t)= -16t2+112t+5 where t is the time in secounds since the arrow was shot. what is the maximum height of the arrow?

maximum height is reached when dh/dt=0

dh/dt= -32t+112=0

32t=112

hence t=112/32

t=3.5 seconds

max height= -16(3.5^2)+112(3.5)+5= -196+392+5

maximum height is 201 m
