Question 1: Describe The issue and state why you believe it is the major public health
challenge for the United States.
The biggest health challenge in the USA today is lack of physical activity and improper
nutrition. It is notable that most of the reported health problems such as cancer, heart problems,
and diabetes are as a result of poor nutrition or inadequate exercise. Taking the proper diet and
regularly doing exercise would go a long way to reducing the problems. Physical activity refers
to the act of moving one's body parts while doing activities such as playing, working, traveling
or participating in other recreational activities (Snavely, 2016). Any form of physical activity,
even one that involves traveling to work requires movement of muscles and thus has health
benefits.
Lack of physical activity is especially common among old people and is a major factor to
mortality in the US. Most of the inactive members of society are more likely to die faster
compared to the more active members. The inactive population face a high risk of hip fractures,
vertebral fractured and falls. They also face risks of strokes, hypertension, cancer, heart diseases,
