Abstract
Plastics are extensively used in the modern era than they have ever been used before.
They are human-made and hence produced in high number to meet the high demand in the
market. Plastics contribute to pollution of both the land and oceans. They take very long to decay
which makes them ideal pollutants. Plastics can be divided into several distinct groups depending
on their mode of manufacturing with Polyethylene, PVCs, and polypropylene being the highly
commercialized plastics globally. Plastics can be used to make several products like plastic
utensils, toys, and even packaging containers. They should be disposed of carefully to avoid
contaminating the environment and the oceans.
Keywords: Plastics, Polyethylene, PVCs.

Discussion
Plastic is synthetic materials that are made from various organic polymers which can
include; nylon, PVC, polyethylene among others. Plastics can be molded into different shapes
when they are still soft and later on be set in slightly elastic forms or more rigid forms. Plastics
can also be defined as materials that consist of any synthetic or semi-synthetic organic materials
that can be molded into different solid objects. Plastics can be used in a wide range of products
which includes in making of plastic bottles, combs and even in making of beverage containers.
Plastics are organic compounds just like wood or even wool. Plastics are used in a wide range,
and their buses are rising daily in the world both commercially and domestically. Plastics are
capable of being molded using either heat or pressure.
Plastic is a human-made compound (Geyer...
