How can I understand geometry in order to calculate the length of a circle?

For an incircle of a triangle the lengths of line segments from the vertex to the tangent point with the circle are congruent.

If AB=5.5 the AF=5.5

If CD=7 then CB=7

If FE=19.5 then DE=19.5

So AE=AF+FE=5.5+19.5=25

CE=CD+DE=7+19.5=26.5

The answer is D.
