Why are women's wages only 60 to 80 percent of men s wages
and why has this situation existed for several decades? Now that women are
entering college and professional schools in increasing numbers, why doesn t
the wage differential disappear?
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
There is gender bias which has made women become discriminated against the Men. The society perceives that men are better than women and when come to the job positions, first priority is given to Men. When comes to the payment, men are also paid better than men as society has not fully changed to recognize women potential in the society. In a scenario you will get a woman who is more educated than a man but you will get that they are not paid equally. This is just discrimination, forgetting that what man can do a woman can do better, most of the countries are nowadays fighting for gender equality so as to avoid biasness.
