Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
Adult foster care homes and board facilities differ from nursing homes and assisted living facilities in their level of aid to the elderly, in general. In adult foster care homes, the elderly are more independent, usually due to a better health level than those in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, and are not required to be under watch by medical staff a majority of the time; however, in a nursing home or assisted living facility, the patient is usually in worse condition than those in an adult foster care facility and need constant attention to retain and maintain their health.
