Political Socialization (PS) is the process by which a person acquires his political attitudes, beliefs, affiliations, and values.Political scientists and sociologists state that family, social class, friends, church affiliation, ethnic or racial background, education and media exposure are the major factors that shape our political opinions, affiliations, and beliefs.

I was born in the state of Ohio. I am strongly affiliated with the Democratic Party
because my political views support progressivism and liberalism. As I grew up, my political
socialization has been greatly influenced by my family, education, ethnic background, and
exposure to media. As I grew up, I interacted with several people who are family members,
classmates, and workmates who greatly believed in liberalism and progressivism. In most cases,
we engaged in political talks that were majorly geared towards the development agendas of the
Democratic Party. Consequently, the media play a great role in defining my political affiliation. I
have spent a great deal of my time reading news from magazines and newspapers, watching
documentaries, and also following the campaign movements of the Democrats. These have
greatly influenced my decision to become a strong supporter of the Democratic Party.
Consequently, my political socialization has been influenced by my personal views about
society and the social issues that society faces. I participate in political affairs through voting.
