Different sources help have different perspectives regarding a particular topic. In literature, they
guide people into understanding more about a specific type of story or movie. They help
establish a personal connection between a person and the particular work of literature in which
they are researching on. Mostly, different genres of literature such as fairy tales depend on
various sources to develop their analysis. Most of the time, understanding what different critics
think about a particular situation or events in a story is necessary to help know the story's various
limitations and advantages. Therefore, the essay focuses on comparing “The King Frog” and
“Beauty and the Beast” with relation to what the different sources support as being the better
version of the fairy tale. Moreover, it highlights the source seems more relevant to the main idea
of the essay.
The different sources that were identified were, Jack, Greenhill and Magnus-Johnston's
"Fairy-tale films beyond Disney: International perspectives" and Vanessa and Greenhill's (20-28)
"Constructing Fairy-Tale Media Forms: Texts, Textures, Contexts." Both sources greatly explain
the progress of fairy tales both of them recognizing the fact that the stories in the genre have
greatly developed both internationally and the way they were presented to be accessed by
children. Both of them also encourage the fact that it is better to have a method that ensures that
the fairytale stories can not only be reached by as many people as possible but also that people

can find them more interesting and entertaining as compared to how it was in the past forms of
these stories. Jack, Greenhill, and Magnus-Johnston illustrate how the development of fairytales
on a global scale has made it easy for people to not only learn about fairy tales worldwide but
also develop ideas that can enhance people's knowledge on them (18). The act of ensuring that an
audience is not easily distracted while checking out either of the stories could mean that the
people in charge are faced with a task of making these stories more attractive, thus making the
movies significant. However, I chose Vanessa and Greenhill's (20-28)"Constructing Fairy-Tale
Media Forms: Texts, Textures, Contexts" since they dwell on not only the demographic
capabilities of the stories, but also the different media forms in which the modern forms of media
can be used to showcase the different stories.
