The definition of a philosophy is having a personal and specific outlook and approach you can use to make decisions and take action. Your philosophy of nursing should include your beliefs and attitudes about nursing, being a nurse, your approach to caring for others. It can also include your attitudes about working in healthcare facilities, working as part of a team, or even how you feel about people in general.
Save a copy of your philosophy as you will want to refer to it during your Program.

Introduction
Philosophy in nursing is a contemplation of an individual’s principles, beliefs, and values
of the nursing practice. My own philosophy of nursing started when I tried to answer questions
like, “what made me choose this practice,” “what does the nursing practice actually mean to me”
and “what is motivating me to continue in this practice.” To define my personal philosophy I will
discuss the fundamental concepts of my theory, the strengths and limitations of my philosophy
and the applicability of my philosophy to the nursing practice.
