In this paper an abundance of sources will be used to justify the use of other cancer
treatments besides chemotherapy and surgery. Those seem to be the most popular sources for
treating this incurable disease. But, there are many different less invasive and hazardous
treatments. Not only treatments for the disease is discussed but also how to treat pain and how to
grow in a healthy way after cancer. Publications, library and internet sources were used to gather
information. All of this research will develop the research paper that follows this annotated
bibliography.
II. Thesis
Many less harmful cancer treatments are available for patients but the first choice for
doctors is chemotherapy and surgery.

options and information for their recovery. It goes into depth on every single one,
providing more knowledge that can be transferred into the essay. Having this source will
allow my essay to start out at a general/basic understanding,so I can move into deeper
knowledge later in my writing.

or Fraud?” Traditional Medicine Research, no. 2, 2019, p. 54. EBSCOhost,
doi:10.12032/TMR20190304107.
This publication was written on the complementary and alternative medicines for
cancer. It test the effects and outcomes; as if these methods do more harm than good. The
author provides a case in China were a young girl died even while taking these
medications. They do extensive research to find out if the cause of her death was due to
the medication or the cancer. All the information in this article is credible with the FDA,
ACMA, and the U.S. Department of Health. This article allows my argument to be
backed up with real world evidence.

The American Cancer Society introduced a not so popular treatment...lasers. Light
Amplification of Stimulated Emission of Radiation is a much safer way of taking care of
those with cancer. It explains the different types of laser and how these lasers work. Also,
it talks about the benefits and limitations, positives outway the negatives in this case.

Having another example of treatment that does more good than bad strengthens my
argument.

This article describes a more natural way to treating and controlling the pains of
cancer. Scientist have found that herbs from all over seem to be working. China, India,
and Japan are the most promising places that the herbs come from. This gives the patients
the option to go a more palliative route of treatment. These herbal ways are tested and
described how they help. Including this article in my paper gives even more evidence of
different treatments.

Cancer.net walks a patient through their diagnosis and treatment. From
understanding their diagnosis to explaining to the patient to do extensive research on the
treatments suggested in this article. This source basically answers any and all questions
that most patients have. It's not a bias course either, every open with options and every
open with answers. With the information provided I can give more options to less
harmful treatments.

Reports, no. 1, 2019, p. 1. EBSCOhost, doi:10.1038/s41598-019-41532-3.
This source provides different complementary medicines that cancer patients use
to treat cancer. It gives a cross-sectional study that was performed to see which
drugs/medicines would work together. Also, giving the effects and symptoms that may
occur while having a combination of treatments. This source will show the reader that
more than one method of treatment at a time may improve a cancer patients statues. It
provides more depth and knowledge with case studies in my paper.

This article focuses on pain management with elderly cancer patients. It provided
treatment plans and their effects. Also, this stresses the usage of analgesics because it
works great for the elderly. Though pain management can be difficult, this source
supplies an abundance of options. This source allows for my research to branch off into
categories such as age.

studied the long and short term effects of chemotherapy on incurable cancers. Along with finding
the effects they also categories them with a survey done by patients, to see which effect were
worse than the next. This article gives us the scientific and patient truth on chemotherapy. Using
this source will build my case on the dangers of chemotherapy.
