The graph of an equation shows the set of points where the equation is true.From the graph of an equation we can determine the points which satisfies the equation.

Example:Consider the equation,y=4x

First of all create a graph

Table of values

x        y

0       0

1       4

2       8

Using the coordinate pair draw the line (0,0)(1,4)(2,8).

The graph clearly tells us that the point lie on the linear equation y=4x.

This is the relevance of the graph.
