How Wollstonecraft’s Text Vindicates for Women’s Rights
In general terms, vindication implies proving if something is justifiable or reasonable,
and clearing blame from someone. Vindication of women’s rights is a way of justification of a
lack of, and cause of the lack of, equal rights, as well as advocating for equal rights for women.
The work of Mary Wollstonecraft in the text “A Vindication of the Rights of Women” is looked
into to evaluate whether she (Wollstonecraft) brings out vindication of women’s rights.
Wollstonecraft vindicates for women’s rights through proving that the society including men and
women themselves are inconsiderate of women’s rights, and that they can stand up for their
independence and other equal rights.
Wollstonecraft vindicates for women’s rights through proving that the society oppress
women, and that women also contribute to their own oppression in some ways. Wollstonecraft
believes that the society has oppressed women especially considering their educational needs.
She speaks of the oppression beginning in the books meant to educate that perceive females as
women rather than human creatures. She mentions that the men who write the books see females
