Description
psychosocial, and sociocultural factors that contribute to obesity
Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
Obesity is strappingly associated to sociocultural factors. In western countries obesity is commoner in lower than in higher societal classes. Therefore, the advance of obesity is prejudiced by ones social status. However, also the converse is true, the recent research recommend that obese people lose social status. This is perhaps due to intolerance and favoritism against obese persons in the current western society, while many think the remedy for this is to treat and interact with such people freely by helping and encouraging them to overcome it.
