Description

Value and the Modern World – As we have seen, one consequence of the scientific revolution was to re-conceive the very idea of nature. Rather than the source of harmony, purpose, value, and goals, nature is seen as a purposeless, meaningless, and aimless system ordered by invariant laws but to no end. And yet, human action and thinking are still constituted by values, purposes, and norms. So a paradigmatic modern problem is to understand where these come from, if not from nature. Some people, like Pascal, claim that a nature-transcendent God still gives us purpose and meaning. Others, like Montaigne, claim that nature does endow humans with goals, purposes, and values, but these have no ultimate or rational justification and we need to learn to live within those limits. Still others, like Kant, argue that human reason itself grounds the values and norms that shape human life, and Simone de Beauvoir argues that it is human freedom. Kafka’s The Trial can be interpreted as a stark illustration of this predicament. Write a paper in which you a) analyze the nature of the problem, and b) defend the best answer to the problem (and remember, one answer might be that there is no answer!). Your paper should show a clear and well-reasoned understanding of the nature of the problem. You should also include a concrete case that illustrates the problem (this may be fictional or real, so long as it illuminates).

Requirement: Writing a simply topic and content that is easy to understand, do not write deeply, it is not my level. I do not want to get A. B is enough.

Concentration on human development through scientific revolution violates the beauty of
nature. Focus on revolution and creating strong world economy as well as the fight for
industrialization by counties across the globe renders the beauty of the nature meaningless. The
focus to improve personal and country economy, many people focus on value addition of the
produces they trade instead of increasing their value addition to the natural resources. In the past
one and a half century, the country and the world was not the way it is today. The
industrialization that followed after the construction of railway line across the USA, as well as
the First World War, paved ways for the people to focus on increasing industries and
construction of more residential houses forgetting to nurture the nature. Eventually, the
government and citizens planted huge houses and cities across the country. This led to the
destruction of national resources making it meaningless.
Sampling a number of things that contribute significantly impact on natural resources,
building skyscrapers demand clearance of some trees among other things. Nature has a way of
maintaining itself. However, human activities and development negatively affect the ecosystem.
Cutting of trees in any area affects habitats on different organisms ranging from birds to soilborne organisms. This affects the ecology in a significant way. Human activities only support
human existence but destroy the lives of others. Human value and adding value to human life
are inseparable with nurturing.
