In distinguishing a vector between a point.  A vector relies on two points, called an initial point and a terminating point.  Whereas a point is only one point.

A = (-2, 11/2),  B = (4, 8)

The vector AB in standard form is calculated as   AB = <4 - (-2), 8 - (11/2) >

where B is the terminating point and A is the initial point.

vector AB = < 6, 2.5>  or  

vector AB = < 6, 5/2 >
