### Question Description

1) A point is a geometric element with coordinates/position but zero dimension, while a vector is a representation of a magnitude and a direction

4) The vector will be represented as a straight line connecting points A (-2, 11/2) and B (4, 8), that is, a line starting at (-2, 5,5) and finishing, that is pointing towards, the point (4, 8) (up and right).

a) It is asked however to draw it at standard position, which means we have to translate the vector to have its origin at the (0,0) point, where x and y axes meet. It will be a straight line point up and right. Its lenght will be (4-(-2))=6 units in the x axis and 8-11/2=2,5 units in the y axis.

b) It is then asked to redraw it with its origin at the point C = (11/2, -2). The vector will now originate at this point and will extend up and right with, again, 6 units in the x axis and 2,5 units in the y axis, ending in the point (23/2, 1/2).

In the image, please see that both arrows (top one for (a) bottom one for (b) ) are parallel and have the same length.vector.gif

Hope this is clear. If not, please drop me a line and I'll get back to you.
