Narratives have since being made an epic when the narrator develops the theme of heroism
to the audience. In order to achieve this, narrators will include a character who performs
extraordinary roles that attract the attention of the reader. An epic story in literature refers to a long
poetic narrative that relates to heroic actions of a person of unparalleled bravery and unusual
courage who represents a certain group people, a culture or ideology (Carole, 2016). In this, epic
heroism will be discussed with selected characters from our reading to identify their traits with a
view of understanding they are considered as heroes.
