Executive Summary
I have been a senior manager at an insurance firm for 9 years, but am currently looking for a
post that integrates strategic management practices. I registered with a recruitment agency, Harris
Hall, and they recommended me to write this paper to sharpen my knowledge and skills required
in strategic leadership management.
The paper is divided into five sections. The first segment entails an analysis of the skills
required in strategic management, definition of factors that enhance an organizations vision, and a
review of leadership theories. The second section focuses on the generation of personal
development plans while the third provides an analysis of the creation and communication of an
organization’s vision. The fourth segment assesses the benefits of management review and
identifies sources of information used in reviewing the progress of a development plan. The final
part is a report on the strategy adopted in reviewing progress in my development plan.
In conclusion, the paper will give detail on the factors that affect an organization’s vision, a
review on theories of management, description of a personal leadership skills audit, and the
generation of a development plan.

Introduction
Background
I am currently working as a senior manager in an insurance company, but I have recently
preferred to move to an organization that focuses more on strategic management. Harris Hall, a
recruitment agency, has requested me to write this paper to sharpen my skills and knowledge on
strategic leadership.
Aims and Objectives
The assignment covers topics on organizational vision, generation of skill development plans,
and skills in strategic leadership, which ensures adequate preparation for the interviews.
Scope
The paper is divided into five parts which cover different concepts. The first section defines
skills required in strategic management, theories of management, and highlights factors that
contribute to the achievement of organizational vision. The second segment focuses on the creation
of a development plan while the third focuses on the generation and communication of
organizations vision. The fourth part assesses the aim of management review and details the source
of information during the analysis of progress in development plans. The final section includes a
report on the strategy adopted to analyze the progress of my development plan.
