Description

I have already written most of it, and I have created a guideline of what needs to be in the paper. It is ok if you come up with stuff whatever you see appropriate like acitivites or goals. some things are highlighted and say the word keep at the end of paragraph. Please don't change these ones. Rest you can change. I was using an old report and just editing on top of it. Old report was for an organization but new report is for a wireless store (please keep that in mind as making changes)

MGT 401 Business Internship Integrative Analysis Report: Talk A Lot Wireless Submitted By: Noor Wadie San Diego State University April 30, 2019 Professor: Michael L. Sloan Purpose Taking up an internship at Talk A Lot Wireless LLC (TALW) was a good choice due to the nature of the store and the roles I implemented during the period with the team. TALW is an LLC that is one of the top master dealers of MetroPCS nationwide. It began its formation in 2006 and now it has the leading edge in the wireless industry by focusing and specializing in MetroPCS. Talk A Lot Wireless leads more than 200 stores nationwide and more than 60 stores in California. They lead, supply, and support MetroPCS store owners with their fully equipped warehouse to ensure that their agents are maximizing their profit and extending their business. The store I had the opportunity to work with is located in La Mesa, California. Talk A Lot Wireless has years of experience in turning non-profitable stores into successful stores. Talk A Lot Wireless corporate office does the behind the seen managing of its warehouse, its own stores, and its agents stores handling their payroll, managing employees, inventory, and many different kinds of paperwork. Project Accomplishment The main aim of an internship is to come up with ideas to implement the store’s activities using the experience learned from school or other work settings. I was passionate about making a positive influence and change towards Talk A lot Wireless and this motivated me more to work in close contact with the team. I am experienced having worked for a period of three years in the business field by helping my father with his business. My educational qualifications from San Diego University work hand in hand to equip me with the basics in a direction (Certo, 2018). I, therefore, joined the Talk A lot Wireless team with the hopes of learning and being able to practice crucial management skills and assist the executive, Mr. Evan Shina, in the day to day activities, administrative tasks, and store marketing . During the internship, I managed to achieve several milestones, which might or not have been in the plans I made earlier. Increasing client base and effectively targeting customers The greatest target of Talk A lot Wireless is increasing client base and foot traffic to the store which leads to more purchases and therefore increased profit. I was therefore engaged in Social Media marketing. During the internship, I created an Instagram page as well as a Facebook page to aim for increasing client’s traffic to the store. I regularly posted new products and promotions that Talk A lot Wireless is offering. I analyzed the numbers of followers as well as path clicks to our page which is an important part of business marketing as learned at SDSU. In addition, I took permission from executive, Mr. Shina to create giveaways once in a while by tagging their friends and family on our page; since people get hyped with free items and it’s a win for both the business and the customers. Moreover, I encouraged customers to write their feedback. When people share their experiences, they can encourage others to go through the same route. Improved Operations When I started the internship, there were concerns raised that the store’s financial gains had been declining with time due to insufficient data management. As a business , the main aim is to generate profits and become the lead and go to store in the market and along competition, which might be hard if there are no proper ways of handling financial records. I, therefore, worked closely with the supervisor as well as the rest of the team and suggested the use of websites such as Bill for Time and QuickBooks. For example, we created profiles for our clients on Bill for Time and that assists in keeping track of when they pay, how much they need to pay, and it helped us create invoices to send to those who need to pay. We saw improvement in the operation of how financials are handled. Talk a lot Wireless started providing stockholders more accurate numbers, more revenue, and as a result less cost. Ah the magic of a structured billing system! Apart from just dwelling on the financial aspect of operations, I aimed to focus on ensuring great customer service. Concept Integration and application The achievement of the above-mentioned goals was possible with the application of the essential management theories that facilitated towards the relationships with the team, accountability as well as decision making. As much as some people might think of training and advisory to be common skills, the person in charge is expected to be trained in several ideologies that promote the success of the major roles. Some of the main theories that I found effective in my roles and activities at the internship were communication, ethics and decision making. Communication and Skills I took up roles that placed me in the public eye during the training and making plans for the organization with colleagues. Excellent communication skills enabled me to make a difference in the way I interacted with people and passed particular messages (12 Manage 2018). My training sessions were always full of energy and cooperation from the group of clients who checked in to gain some knowledge about the lessons. Unlike in other sessions I have attended outside the organization where the coordinator gives the guidelines while the rest listen, this case it was entirely different. I made my appearances more comfortable to the audience by encouraging them into the conversations even before we began training on the serious matter (12 Manage 2018). I had an organized schedule to incorporate both the client’s sharing and other official learning during each session. Change please I always exercised humility while talking to the group to reduce any tensions that come with participating in an event. I am well equipped with public speaking skills and experiences that I had conducted before working with License to Freedom. The confidence in my conduct while passing a certain message to the audience was the best way to gain the attention of the audience, most of whom were facing difficulties in life (12 Manage 2018). I am always an open-minded individual who is flexible about the content but sticks to the main aim of the activity. I am also an approachable speaker due to the tone of my voice which encouraged most of our clients to freely raise their concerns. It was also very important for me to practice welcoming body language along with my tone to come off as approachable and ready to assist. The same thing happened during my interactions with colleagues and fellow trainers who felt free to tell or ask anything from me. I am a participative kind of person who always contributes to idea generation, enabled by the research I conduct prior to any meetings (12 Manage 2018). I always make sure to ask about the topics under discussion and find out more information about them so that I can be resourceful during the activity. The organization tackles the cases of diversity putting into consideration that our clients are mainly immigrant and refugee victims. In therefore made sure to use the kind of language that will not offend people due to their cultural belonging. Ethics and Responsibility There are many cases that require the good code of conduct to establish healthy relationships with people and also achieve the set goals (12 Manage 2018). During my time, I realized that the most important ethics were to follow the regulations of the organization and also treat everyone including our clients with the kind of respect and diversity they deserve. License to freedom’s main objective is to ensure that their clients feel welcome and catered for while expressing their problems. I was, therefore, careful to work towards the objectives of the company and place its goals in front of everything else. I came to LTF to help people as well as receive the best recommendations for my future career advancement. Anyone in this situation would think of compromising the quality of their work and secretly come up with strategies to look great (12 Manage 2018). I, however, followed the instructions from my superiors and suggested new ideas where I thought possible, or corrected them when they were wrong. I also made sure to exercise diversity in the activities involving the people around me to make them all feel appreciated. In as much as there were instances where I found myself sounding offensive, always made the training so fun and flexible such that the participants found no offense in the controversial messages. I also made healthy interactions with my colleagues and the team behind LTF to ensure that I could learn and share ideas as well. Change first half please Decision-making and valuation In the event of any activity, I was put in charge of, I was required to make decisions that would affect many people. Thus placed a true responsibility on me to think of all the organizations strengths and weaknesses and take into eye the consequences that would come with each decision made. I would of course consult my supervisor with the decision made and the way to implement to ensure validity from her experience as well as ensure it goes with our code of conduct at License to Freedom. As mentioned earlier, I don’t just think through the concepts and settle on a final decision without proper investigation. In any event, I went through the training and meetings with the team, In was sure to do a proper research on the issue at hand (12 Manage 2018). I am a social person and me, therefore, interacted with people around San Diego County especially the areas affected most by immigration. These tours outside work gave me a different perspective on the issue of the plight of these victims. I could, therefore, get the material to talk to the group I trained throughout the process. When we held a meeting to discuss the ways of cutting costs while increasing the donations, I also went through other charity organization’s activities and how they handled their situation in the past (12 Manage 2018). LTF does not need mistakes that might compromise its activities to the society and hence the need to make the best choices. Change please Personal Reflection The experience at LTF was one of a kind in my line of work of training and advising individuals concerning social, economic and emotional issues. I got to interact with people from diverse backgrounds who have varying views about the different issues under discussion. I gave the participants a reason to think about how to amend their situation and have the government deal with their rights and human beings. Most of these individuals were already hopeless about their positions in life and hence there was a lot of changes I made into their lives. I also do not consider myself to be the most intelligent as through the interactions I came up with different perspectives on the way I viewed the less fortunate in the society. Not all of the poor and displaced people are in the situation because of lack of skills and knowledge as I thought of before the experience (Certo, 2018). CHANGE TO REFLECT WIRELESS PLEASE 😊 When I interacted with the colleagues and other trainers, I learned a lot of management theories and the skills that could influence my career path in the future. When I first joined LTF, I did not have all the appropriate ways of interacting with others. My previous job was in a personal office where I only interacted with clients and less time with my fellow workers. However, in this organization, Most of the projects I undertook were mainly in the public eye of the company which necessitated interactions. Since I was responsible to keep volunteers focused on the organizations goals it was relatable to them that I myself was an unpaid intern. Therefore, a volunteer just like them for the same cause. Thanks to the experience, I can now work together with any individual regardless of their diverse thinking and perspective about certain events. KEEP please Conclusion In conclusion, I developed a lot of skills and knowledge in the line of my career as well as made an impact to many. I was able to explore the work setting, and somehow practice management skills in real life rather than on books and power points. It is rather spectacular to see how one can learn by participating and not only reading. KEEP I can now confidently say that my training is personalized and customized to fit the context of the occurrences. I learned to take through the experiences of my audience and make a talk out of that which many of them can relate to without any instances of getting out of the topic. I am also mature enough to coexist diverse thinking and values that did not match my beliefs. I used to be offended and tempted to correct people of different values but I can know use these experiences to learn more. KEEP please My internship with Talk A Lot Wireless; remains a remarkable mark in my life as I would not forget my voluntary time spent with the store led to my career platform and foundation. Completing the Internship by having completed some tasks and successfully having it done well, I am proud to state I gained so much more than I expected. The learning I took from this experience will click forever in my mind as and when I start my career in any organization as well as when I climb up the ranks in Management. Putting into task my class work is something I am happy of as I sign off my internship report. KEEP PLEASE References 12 Manage (2018). Retrieved from https://www.12manage.com/ Certo, S. C. (2018). Project Description and Deliverables The project I will be working on in regard to Talk A Lot Wireless is assisting executive in administrative tasks as well as store marketing. The deliverables will be divided in the sense that both parties will benefit from this internship. I will gain the experience I need while I will add value to Talk A Lot Wireless in how they attract customers and deal with their finances. Project Activities and Actions Target Timeline 1. Target customers to increase client base. February 29, 2019 The approach will be through studying what the store offers and the client base that would be most interested in purchasing the product. Then, I would approach the clients and market the products to them through social media since that is what most people use nowadays. The evidence for completing the action will be the increase of revenue as well as the increase of client base followers on social media. 2. Research industry competitors. March 18, 2019 meaning what other stores offer what we offer and go about how to distinguish our company from our competitors. I will go about that through creating reports of what the store is doing correctly and vise versa. This will assist myself and the store manager in having competitive advantage over other stores that provide the same products and services. Mgt. 401 1 Project Contract Form Noor Wadie 3. Assist executive in managing store financials. April 5, 2019 I will go about that through bringing websites such as Bill for Time and Quickbooks to executive attention and the benefits that could go hand in hand with using such applications. The action will be measured by having a more structured billing system which leads to more accurate numbers of cost and revenue. 4. Ensuring a great customer service. April 19, 2019 Go about in ensuring great customer service is being provided to clients which will add value and recognition to the store. I will go about that through creating short, but effective customer service trainings for our existing employees since customer service is a huge part of why customers choose certain entities to deal with. The evidence of action completion would be increase of client traffic and especially pleased clients. I plan on implementing a short survey system to measure how satisfied clients are with the services Talk A Lot Wireless provides. Value Added The projects previously listed will each add value to the organization in a certain way. The overall way that the store does business will be improved which has a significant effect on the revenue the store makes each period. The value that will be added shall be measurable through instant effect whether on customer satisfaction, revenue, or the fact that the store will have competitive advantage within competitors. I plan on including the measurable and verifiable goals that will be attained by the end of this internship on the final report towards the end of this class time frame. I will go about this internship with dedication in hopes of maybe obtaining employment as a manager of store within a period of time seen appropriate by the executive who I will be assisting in this project. __________________________________ Student’s Signature and Date ______________________ _____ Supervisor’s Signature and Date _________________________ Student’s Name (Printed) Mgt. 401 Instructor’s Signature and Date Michael L.
