(1) Each May school districts across the state vote on their budget for the upcoming school year. Go to
your home town’s school district web site and let me know what’s happened in their budget. Tax
increase above the cap, spending cuts, or a balance of both. Your answer should give me your
district, total spending proposed, change over previous year, and specific programs that may be
targeted for cuts. If your home town is out of the country, please pick a local school district. (this

Coming from New York, the District of Albany, I will be using the University at Albany.
System-wide, SUNY institutions will spend $64 million to cover the TAP tuition gap. This is a
million dollars less than the previous year’s expenditure budget of $65 million to cover the TAP
tuition gap. As for tax, the university. One of the programs that is not likely to be affected by a
spending cut is the Tuition revenue which in the 2019/2020 budget will be in the third year of
four years of scheduled tuition increases to accommodate the potential $200 per undergraduate.
