Dante’s Divine Comedy is one of the eight or ten most influential things ever written. Likewise, in many ways, it is about and like certain of the earlier “most influential things ever written,” particularly those written by Homer and Virgil.
Write an essay in which you examine three people, places, or things alluded to by Dante in The Infernoportion of The Divine Comedy which are found in earlier readings for this course, especially from The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid. After you have named them, explain, to the best of your ability, why Dante might have thought them to be worthy of inclusion or examination in his great work.
Write the essay in MLA format, observing all rules of structure and grammar.
