So when you find the surface area of a prism like this, you want to add up the areas of each of the individual surfaces.

Contained in the prism are 3 identical rectangles with dimensions of 5 x 20 and two triangles that have a base of 5 and a height of 4.3.

Area of rectangle : 5 * 20 = 100

Area of 3 rectangles : 3*100 = 300

Area of triangle : 1/2 * 5 * 4.3 = 10.75

Area of 2 triangle : 2*10.75 = 21.5

Surface area : 300 + 21.5 = 321.5
