Area of rectangle is 8x^2 

And it consists of areas of 4 triangles and area of inside figure

So area of inside figure = area of rectangle - area of 4 triangles

we have 2 tipes of triangles big and small

area of big triangle = 1/2 3x*x , but we have 2 of them , so area of 2 big triangles is 2 * (1/2*3x*x)=3x^2

area of small triangle =1/2 x*x , we have 2 of them as well, so area of 2 small triangles= 2*(1/2 x*x)= x^2

In that case the are of figure = 8x^2 - (3x^2+x^2)= 8x^2-4x^2 =4x^2
