  The monthly sales volume for my sales people is normally distributed with a mean of 17 products sold and a standard deviation of 2.89 products.  I plan to give the top 15% of the sales people a $500 bonus based on number of products sold.  What is the minimum number of products a sales person must sell to earn the bonus? (I have Appendix tables with z scores that may be needed for the problem, please put in what number to look up on the table though)

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

z-score for top 15 percent >= 1.036

x>= 1.036*2.89+17 = 19.994

So sales people must sell minimum of 19.994 ~ 20 products to get a bonus.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
