A data center is a storehouse that houses various computing facilities such as switches,
routers, servers and firewalls among other supporting components such as air conditioning, fire
suppression facilities, smoke detection, and back up equipment. It refers to the components that
make up the basics of the information systems (IS) of an organization. A data center can be a
complex or simple building that houses a few servers or and it could be shared or private. Data
centers often provide services such as back-up and recovery, networking, data management, and
