The American city was not capable of doing a better job of protecting the environment and providing adequate housing for the poor because of the rapid growth with very little state regulations and only a little assistance from the government led to the involvement of private capitalist development which led to the environmental pollution and provided substandard housing for the poor. Another reason was the inadequate infrastructure for the large population. Urbanization and industrialization has brought a
lot of change not only in the American society but also in the natural
resources. There were many people settled in the country and caused
exploitation to the natural resources. Many economic activities resulted in polluting the water and air. Animals were another reason for the cause polluting the environment. There was bribery and politics which controlled the whole nation of America but the money was not used for the protection of environment or for the people. As the time passed by there was a gap created between the rich and the poor where the rich became more rich and the poor became more poor.
