The Putting of Japanese-Americans in Internment Camps justified during WWII?
Introduction
A Summary of the Historical Events Associated with the Event
The putting of the Japanese Americans in internment camps refers to the historical events
that saw the Japanese Americans forcefully relocated and then subjected to incarceration within
internment camps. The event took place in camps located within the interior parts of the West
Coast of the United States where between 110000 to 120,000 Japanese Americans living in the
Pacific coast were forceful relocated and subjected to incarceration. The Incarceration was
ordered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt following the Imperial Japanese attack on Pearl
Harbor. The incarceration was aligned to the regional politics and local population dynamics.
Hence, it never spared the over 110,000 Japanese who lived in the mainland, of which 80,000
were second-generation citizens of the U.S. The number of Japanese in Hawaii who were put in
internment camps were 1,200 out of the 1,800. The internment was operationalized by the
military who designated the camps for executing the Japanese but of course relying on the
intelligence information from U.S Census Bureau to identify the specific location of Japanese
within their neighborhood.
