Questions

  • Resistance of a wire depends on which of the following: length, material, or cross section area. Explain your answer.

The Magnetic Field

The Magnetic Field Interactive is shown in the iFrame below. Dragging this hotspot allows you to change the size of iFrame to whatever dimensions you prefer. Drag a compass needle through the space surrounding a bar magnetic and observe the magnetic field created by the bar Click on the image below to experiment with the magnetic field.

Explanation & Answer

Attached.

Building Circuits
The resistance of the wire depends on the length of the wire, the material of the wire and the crosssectional area of the wire.

Length- The resistance of the wire increases with increase in length of the wire.

Material- Different materials have different resistivity and hence different resistance

Cross-sectional area- The larger the cross-sectional area the smaller the resistance and vice
versa.

The Magnetic Field

1. Retentivity
2. North (N) to South (S)
3. The induced voltage should increase.
