The article “Why unemployment for is blacks 86% higher than US average” was recently
published in the USA Today. The article provides reasons for such a high unemployment rate for
Black Americans. According to the recent study conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it
was found that the economy of the USA is performing well since December 1969.However, the
situation for black Americans has to worsen compared to other people belonging to other races.
As of April, the unemployment rate was found to be 6.7% for black Americans .Further,
the rate was found to be 116% higher than Whites and 204% higher than Asians respectively.
The US Census puts the total black population to be 13.4% of the total US population. The
