Introduction

Institute of Medicine (IOM) in their report motivated nurses in obtaining a higher
education level as well as be engaged much in their practice and helping patients to benefit from
substantial care with excellent results. There is the evolution of nursing practice and changing in
demands of the public to fit in the requirements of individuals. The paper discusses the
recommendation report of IOM numbered 4, 5, and 6 as well as their influence of the author,
currently and in the future.
Recommendation 4: Increase the proportion of nurses with a baccalaureate degree to
80% by 2020
Every nurse with a baccalaureate degree learns to be a creative thinker for acting
accordingly to the circumstances. Besides, the nurse has a chance of exploring evidence-based
research in the training, which makes it easy in employing in day-to-day practice depending on
