Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Sets A and B have 2 as the intersection. universal set is {2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9}

n(U)=  8

n(A)=?

n(B)=5

therefore, n(U)=n(A)+n(B)

8=5+?, subtract 5 from both sides

8-5=5-5+?

3=n(A)

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
