In any research, it is possible to use human subjects. However, there is a need to respect
and protect the personal rights of a person or group of people. This ensures that one does not
infringe on the rights and do not go against the set guidelines regarding using the human
subjects. There are groups such as children, people with disability among other people who are
considered vulnerable and should be protected as much as possible (Ross, et. Al, 2010). This is
people that have issues related to coercion as well as undue influence thus in need of additional
safeguards in their welfare given the special consent required whenever they are used as subjects.
A researcher can conduct a study based on children. Considering that the children are
vulnerable there is need to have the necessary consent from the parents. However, there is a need
for extra protection for children whenever such research is permitted (Bracken-Roche, et. Al,
