The Franks, the Mongols, the Umayyads, the Abbasids, the Aztecs, and the Song all created state

systems to develop and control the economic, social, and political developments within their domains.

The Mongol empire began in the steppes of central Asia and lasted throughout the 13th
and 14th centuries (Elverskog, 2016). The Mongols established their rule through invasions and
brutal raids. Genghis Khan was proclaimed ruler of all Mongols in 1206. The Mongol empire
rapidly grew under his rule and that of his descendants since they sent invasions in every
direction. Due to the fact that the Mongol Empire sent invasions in every direction thus
connecting the east with the west and with the Mongol peace or enforced Pax Mongolica, this
allowed commodities, technology, trade, and ideologies to be disseminated and exchanged across
Eurasia. This played a great role in the establishment of the Mongol empire. Genghis Khan
unified the nomadic Mongols and Turkic tribes of historical Mongolia. Mongol conquests and
invasions went on until 1300 by which the vast empire covered much of Eastern Europe and
Asia. Through raids and invasions, the Mongols spread panic and induced population
displacement on an unprecedented scale thus conquering new regions as well as ruling them. The
