After reading the various framework and theories presented, which most closely matches
your beliefs? Please explain why?
Florence Nightingale developed and explained the first theory of nursing. She noted the
huge relationship between a patient’s recovery and his or her environment. According to her, a
patient would heal better and faster in the ideal environment. Florence was very inspiring to the
nursing profession, even when everyone despised nursing and associated it with ill-breed
women, her passion for helping the sick did not falter. Even before she went to help the war
victims, Nightingale would look after sick relatives ensuring the environment around them was
almost perfect. I very much agree with her; there is a relationship between host, environment,
and disease-causing agent. The environment supports the other two aspects, with poor conditions
an agent will thrive causing disease in a host. A good environment will keep a host healthy and
enable him or her fight this disease-causing agent. It should...
