CRITIQUE OF RESEARCH PAPER
The original paper is on a survey of the oral indications of different gastrointestinal disease (GI)
analyzed in patients. The audit incorporates peptic ulcer infection, interminable gastritis, gastric
disease, endless hepatic illnesses, gallbladder and biliary infections, and interminable
pancreatitis. The authors surveyed medicinal records of 430 patients from the internal medicine
department. All of the studied patients had been diagnosed with gastrointestinal infections
between 2004 and 2007. The results from the analysis of the survey indicated that peptic ulcer
disease, chronic hepatic diseases, chronic gastritis and liver cirrhosis were the primary
gastrointestinal diseases associated with oral cavity lesions at (20.87%), (15.38), (14.28), and

(17.58%) respectively. One hundred eighty-two patients (42.32%) displayed an occurrence of the
oral cavity. The paper conclusion was that the common gastrointestinal infections are associated
with the oral cavity and it is, therefore, appropriate to recognize the disease and provide timely
referral treatment.
