Introduction
The notch to how healthcare services for residents or individuals raise the possibility for
anticipated health outcomes and re continuously steady to the present professional understanding
of healthcare is what is referred to as quality healthcare. Thus, a quality enhancement strategy or
program is an intervention that aims to improve the daily operations of doctors, nurses or patient’s
in their routine practice. This paper aims to propose a project in line with quality development
initiative that entails; target population, project cost, project evaluation basis and the purpose. This
paper also aims to propose why this project is vital to the hospital and thus the need why the
hospital funding board should fund the project. Sleep is essential for the proper functioning of the
body therefore critical to human life. Noise in most of the hospitals surpass the recommended rules
since most of the noise comes from; equipment’s and machines, pagers or intercoms, alarms,
roommates and staff conversations, thus, there need to ensure that there is a night time noise
rejection project for patient’s outcome and quality improvement. Lastly, this paper will illuminate
on how and why this project will provide a contusive hospital working environment and promote
patient’s quality care.
Purpose
According to studies, a lot of problems are associated with disturbed sleep, thus sleep is a
biological necessity. Noise increases the stress or anxiety levels thus being among the significant
contributory causes to physiological responses like facial grimacing, increased heart rate,
Vasoconstriction, increased blood pressure and muscular flexion. Furthermore, working
environment affect’s nurses’ performance in a hospital; nurses working who have worked in a
noisy hospital environment have complained of irritability, burnout, exhaustion and in some

instances, it can lead to depression. Moreover, in 2010 World Health Organization found out that
night noise in the hospital affects patients in the following ways; increase in Insomnia or medical
use, heartbeat rate increase and also arousals (Wilson, Whiteman & LeBarba, 2017). This program
aims to determine noise levels in the hospital entities and propose/encourage a healthy hospital
environment through the use of the Yacker Tracker Device. Lastly, this program intends to create
awareness about the effects of noise on the patient’s well-being or even staff.

Most patients and staff are exposed to hospitals noise risk every day and more so during
