Description

Consider the business idea you are evaluating, or assess a current or prior employer or any other workplace.

RIVERSIDE CONSTRUCTION, INC. - ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING HIGHWAYS.

Prepare a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that addresses the following:

  • Describe potential torts that might reasonably arise in that workplace. While you may discuss several torts, you are required to discuss the tort of negligence.
  • Identify the types of tort law that would apply to your selected business. This discussion must include a discussion on the doctrine of respondent superior.
  • Explore how the business should protect itself from tort liability. Include an assessment of insurance options that can help to minimize risk.
  • Analyze how you might advise the business to protect itself in the future. The owner expects a substantive answer, not simply a recommendation to refer matters to an attorney. The majority of businesses in the United States do not have staff counsel, and no owner wants to spend money getting legal advice until they know why legal assistance may be needed (i.e., after you provide an assessment). In your analysis, identify the tort law principles that support your recommendations.

Include a title page, introduction, headings, sub-headings, in-text citations, a conclusion, and a reference page. Use 3 to 5 references from sources other than the text, 2 to 3 of which should be peer-reviewed sources.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

people conduct themselves in a country. The laws of a country play a very crucial role in
determining what is right and what is wrong in society. The US constitution, for instance,
provides for the laws and regulations that have to be observed by all the Americans as they
undergo their various duties. The laws and regulations seek to promote peace and unity in
society. This way, the country is able to grow economically since when there is adequate peace,
the environment is usually very conducive for business operations. Breaking the laws and
regulations provided by the constitution may lead to one being charged in a court of law. The law
of tort, for instance, provides guidelines on what is considered wrong in the United States. Tort
refers to a wrongful act which causes some loss to the claimant hence making the person
committing the crime to bear the liability. Committing a tort is punishable by the court of law in
