x + 4y + 4 = 0 ---(2)


Multiply both sides of equation (1) by -1

x + 4y = 4

4y = - x + 4



From equation (2)

x + 4y = -4

4y = -x - 4



Both equations have the same slope of -1/4 which means they are parallel.

Hence, the system of equations has no solution.
