Ethos
•
Ethos is also described as the ethical appeal of a particular point of view, agenda or ideology.
•
Ethos generally involves passing information it is from credible sources and is irrefutably honest
and unbiased. Ethos, in reality, involves being honest, truthful, and reliable with the message or
information one is passing across.
•
It goes beyond ethics and standards that most GMO foods are not labeled as such and consumers
are not made aware to distinguish between GMO and not GMO foods. Out of all the state in
America, it is quite strange and bizarre that only two States have approved GMO labeling of food.
The conflicting issue of GMO labeling points out the existence of underhand and unethical deals
between large GMO corporations and existing state legislative heads, that is believed to be the
reason for the failure of approval of several GMO foods labeling bills.
Pathos

Pathos or emotional appeal is usually aimed to invoke emotions on the message being passed on
to a targeted audience.
•
Pathos is generally used to evoke sympathy and stir up emotions towards the targeted audience.
Universal emotions stirred up from the use of pathos include anger, pity, and sympathy. Pathos
can be a very effective way of drumming up a response from the audience.

One emotionally gripping scene in the documentary is the case of Haitian farmers and Monsanto
Seeds Company. After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Monsanto is said to have donated four
hundred and seventy-five tonnes of seeds to Haiti. However, Monsanto's donation to Haiti was
