It is easier to hear an echo in a large empty hall than a small one. why is that?

Actually, there is an echo in a small room just as there is an echo in a large room.

An echo is what you hear when a sound that comes from you, or near you, hits a distant object and reflects back.

In a small room, the distance is very short and the reflected sound reaches you so quickly that you are not aware of it.

However, if you were in a small room where all the sound was intentionally deadened. You would notice the difference.
