This test will assess your ability in the topics we covered in our Microsoft Word book. You are asked to make a potential customer proposal for Bullet Bill PC Repairs, a computer repair company. The last page of this document has some example screenshots for how your finished test could look. Your proposal will begin with a title page that contains a headline, SmartArt graphic, page border, and a logo to catch the eye of potential customers. The title page WILL NOT contain a header or footer. To begin, change your document theme to Wisp. After you’ve changed your theme, you can modify the rest of the page. Your first page, and only your first page, will have a border around it. I’ll let you pick a border style that matches your personality. Your headline should be formatted as follows: • Font Name: Stencil • Font Size: 48 • Font Effects: Small Caps • Text: Computer Repairs • Text Position: Centered • Text Color: Choose a text color that you like • Paragraph Background Color: Choose a background color you like • Paragraph Border: Shadow Border, 6 pt width, choose a color you like • Paragraph indentation (margins): Left .4", Right .4" • Paragraph Spacing: 0 pt Before, 0 pt After • Paragraph Line Spacing: Single Below your headline you should have a SmartArt graphic as follows: • SmartArt Graphic: Gear (from the Process section) • SmartArt text: • Quality Repairs • Fast Service • Friendly Staff • Change the SmartArt Colors to a color scheme of your own choosing. Do not use the default colors. • Change the SmartArt Style to an effect of your choosing. Do not use the default style. Below your SmartArt you should have the following formatted text: • Font Name: Palatino Linotype (the default Body font for the theme) • Font Size: 36 • Font Style: Bold & Italic • Text: QUALITY, AFFORDABLE WORK AT A GREAT PRICE (in all caps) • Text Position: Centered • Text Color: Choose a color you like • Paragraph Spacing: 0 pt Before, 6 pt After Below your “QUALITY…” text, you should include the company logo, which was attached to the Moodle assignment: • Download the image • Make sure the image is centered • Make sure the logo fits on the first page without issue After you’ve finished setting up your first page, you can move onto your second page by inserting a Next Page Section Break. Your second page WILL have a header and footer, so make sure to set up your second page appropriately so that your headers and footers must not appear on the first page of your document. Once you’ve moved to the second page of your document, you’ll need to insert the text for the second page. The file containing the text for the second page is called “FILLER TEXT.docx” and was attached to the Moodle assignment online. After inserting the text, you’ll need to make a quick modification to the 3 paragraph headers that came into the page (Who We Are, Who We Strive To Be, How We’ll Win You Over). • Font Color: Pick a color you like • Paragraph Spacing: Before 4pt, After, 4pt • Update the text style so all three paragraph headers have it applied automatically Here is information about the Header and Footer that will appear on Page 2: Header Information: • Header Style: Retrospect • Header Text (in the [Type the document title] area): Client Information Sheet • Header Font Size: 16 pt • Pick this year from the Year picker • Year Font Size: 16pt • Year Font Color: Pick a color you like Footer Information: • Footer Style: Retrospect • Replace the Footer Text with the following: Bullet Bill PC Repairs – (570) 208-5900 – bulletbill.com • Font Size: 16 pt • Update the page numbering so that it starts back at #1 on this page. Note: this is different than manually typing Page 1. After you’ve added in both your document text as well as your header and footer, you’ll need to create a table below the text on your second page. Here’s a screenshot of what the table’s contents are: I would like you to stylize the table a bit. Here are some ideas: Add some tasteful shading, make the row and column headers stand out a bit, shade the cells, change the text alignment, etc. In essence, I want you to make this an easy to read table using the skills that you’ve got. Don’t worry about trying to get into my head and give me the perfect table. There is no perfect table. Just make something that looks nice and uses the things we’ve learned about tables.
