The number of nurses present in many health facilities is very low thus affecting the quality
of services offered to patients. The shortage of nurses in health centers has been as a result of
many issues which include nurses not being satisfied with their jobs due to poor payment, fatigue,
and burnouts as a result of a lot of work, and high fees charged during taking the nursing-related
courses. There are a number of strategies and approaches that can be used to deal with the challenge
of nursing shortage and nurse turn over. Nursing leaders and managers play a very important role
in ensuring that the problem of shortage of nurses in facilities is eliminated. The development of
nurses who are competent, courageous, and creative, have integrity and are effective needs the
