Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Rehabilitation vs. Retribution

a)  Rehabilitation promotes humanizing belief in the notion that offenders can be saved and not simply punished whereas retribution  involves the disapproval for offenders’ wrongdoing and to clearly condemn his criminal actions through punishment

b)  Rehabilitation recognized social inequity that is offenders need to be rehabilitated hence accepting the idea that circumstances often constrain and lead to criminality it rejects the idea that offenders who commit crime should be punished equally  irrespective of their backgrounds whereas retribution recognizes the offender’s status as a moral agent hence asks the offender to take responsibility.

c)  Retribution advocates that more serious crimes should be punished more seriously because of more severe violation of rules whereas rehabilitation gives the offender a chance to get a lighter punishment regardless of the type of crime.
