Question 1
When working in a team, conflict is a regular occurrence which frequently happens
during the entire project period. Conflict affects our emotions, actions, and perceptions and
both positive and negative effects always accompany it. Therefore, when resolving a conflict,
it has to be addressed in three distinct levels our emotions, actions, and perspectives. Before a
dispute is managed, it has to be acknowledged by the parties involved. Disagreements between
one member and another in a team occur due to the different backgrounds, ideology,
perception, knowledge, and experience of the individuals constituting a team (Rahim, 2017).
The most crucial process in conflict management is how an individual responds to conflict.
Response to conflict determines whether the dispute will be resolved or not. In a corporate
environment, conflict is seen as a good thing which enhances better understanding between the
parties involved in the long run.
When in a conflict, I employ three main processes in managing the conflict. The first
stage is to prepare for the resolution which involves acknowledging the conflict. It consists in
