Voices of the undocumented by Rosenfeld presents very important themes to Americans
in the 21st century. The context majorly includes the tales of experiences of immigrants into
America. The major categories of the immigrants in the context include the Hispanics and the
Latinx (Rosenfeld and Fortunati, 2015). The immigrant to the US was in pursuit of employment
opportunities in plantations and artisanry. The immigrants were however treated unfairly
including massive deportation and rampant arrests by the American authorities.
My opinion on the tales of the immigrants is that the immigrants deserved to be treated
with fairness. The undocumented workers were doing legal jobs in the US and benefitted the
country’s economy; therefore, it was not a sensible reason to be harsh on them. I think the
American population was very reckless to call on a massive crackdown on the undocumented
workers nationwide. It would have been a good idea if employers conducted competitive hiring
instead of hiring cheap labor only from immigrants. I would suggest that the US formulates
better terms to handle the current immigrants well; forced deportation is inhumane bec...
