4.True or false. P(E) + P(Ec) = 1.

* Please clarify response if statement is false.

Hello!

I suppose Ec is "not E".

Then the equation is true: E and Ec have empty intersection,
therefore P(E)+P(Ec)=P(E or Ec),
and (E or Ec) cover entire space, so P(E or Ec)=P(entire space)=1.
