Doctoral study is a postgraduate doctoral degree awarded to the student after the
completion of the original thesis providing significant new research in their subject. The
method used in performing the doctoral study varies from research to research which can be
quantitative method, qualitative method or mixed method. If I would have to select the method
for my doctoral study, I would prefer mixed method. Mixed method will include features of
both qualitative method and quantitative method. Some of the types of mixed method are
sequential explain a tree design, sequential exploratory design, concurrent triangulation, and

Suitability of method
The method is suitable when the researcher wants to you look at the Research question
from different perspectives, generalize the findings from the qualitative research, develop the
